KVK (Dutch Chamber of Commerce)

KVK is part of the Dutch government which has existed since 1803. Its focus is on the registration of companies and organisations. To provide a safe and reliable climate for entrepreneurs.

Year: 2022-2025
Role: Product designer
Tasks: Research, wireframing, prototyping
Tools: Figma, Sketch, Invision, Lyssna, Confluence and Jira

The challenge

The services of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce are fragmented which make it difficult for entrepreneurs to arrange matters regarding their businesses.

The process

In collaboration with mulitiple product teams and product designers we found user problems in the customer journey. Starting this proces we use the Triple diamond methodology.

Pains & Gains

Together with the teams we gathered customer data and input from all kind of sources, namely: Mopinion forms, surveys, user research, cardsorting, etc. We collected the user problems of the KVK services, clustered and prioritised them.

Ideation

The product designers came up with different concepts and ideas to tackle the problems users face. This was done in the form of a Design roulette, each product designer iterating on one other.

Prototyping

After iterating our concepts and ideas we made a clickable prototype which can be validated by the user.

User testing

After iterating our designs we could make a clickable prototype which was used for User research. This enabled us to observe and analyse users behaviour and see what works well and what doesn’t.

The solution

The Triple Diamond Process was done in multiple iterations. The solution: A personal online environment for entrepreneurs delivered in multiple development phases. The fragmented services are accessible from one overview. Entrepreneurs are supported in their lawful business tasks.

First phase development

The first phase of Mijn KVK is live. From now on Dutch entrepreneurs have an online environment to get insights of all their businesses, UBO and LEI registrations. Next phases with more functionalities will be rolled out in the near future.
